During a journey through Sri Lanka, fate gifted me a scene that stayed in my mind, as if taken from an impressionist painting: a wedding bathed in tropical sunlight, and that… bus. It loomed in the background—clunky and absurd, yet strangely charismatic, as if an important participant in the ceremony. The bride and groom, dressed in traditional attire, were immersed in a sea of bright colors and smiles. This is the charm of Sri Lanka—the contrast between beauty and chaos, between tradition and modernity. The bus became a metaphor for life, which doesn’t always go according to plan but is always full of surprises. I tried to capture this moment on canvas, blending vivid colors and bold strokes to create a sense of movement, warmth, and life.
